Among the microbiome modulation strategies, one of the most interesting and promising is fecal microbiota transplant (FMT), a medical procedure in which stool from a healthy donor is introduced into a patient's intestines as a medical treatment. FMT has also been applied in veterinary medicine to treat intestinal ailments of ruminants and equines since the 17th century. An increasing number of veterinarians are exploring this option despite no official guidelines yet, as the potential benefits of FMT in restoring animal health are now evident from human studies. In this scenario, Eubiome intends to offer fecal biobank services in an attempt to meet the growing need for safe, standardized, rapid and economical access to the material necessary for the practice of FMT, both in the field of research and in veterinary care, in particular as far as pets are concerned. Since its establishment, Eubiome is dealing with the legislative part related to the procedure and standardization of the methods necessary for the collection and storage of fecal material. In addition, it is developing a series of collaborations with veterinarians for the creation of a functional network for the implementation of these procedures and the collection of data for research purposes
